Last Friday Brutus and Rufus got groomed. OMG they looked soooo pretty when I picked them up. They were so soft and smelled so good – they were sooo stinky when I dropped them off. I wanted to keep them pretty for at least a couple of days. I knew Rufus would make a beeline straight for the pond the second I let him out. So, I wanted to prevent this and took them out front on leashes to do their business… they were sooo not impressed. Brutus knew the drill (from his toe incident) and had little problem poo’ing in front of me, but Rufus wasn’t having any part of it. He was so upset and just wouldn’t “go” on the leash. He kept running to the back door and whining, I would take him out front, he wouldn’t go. He wanted to run around and play. So finally Sunday night I just let them go. I figured I had enjoyed their prettiness for 48 hours… ugg. Brutus has stayed out of the pond and of course as I expected Rufus made a beeline and headed straight into the pond. He still looks pretty and only got his legs wet.

Its been sooo hot and humid for the last week that they haven’t wanted to go out and play at all. The temps have been between 95°f and 98°f and with the heat index it has been over 100°f. They go off the deck and pee/poo and come straight back in the house. It has been miserable. Yesterday and today haven’t been as bad, we had storms the day before yesterday. But come tomorrow it is going to get miserable and in the high 90′s again. This summer has sure been a hot one.
