Dinner at Jimmy V’s

Posted by Saint Lover

Tonight we met my husband’s college friend for dinner at Jimmy V’s. Its way on the other side of town and we were running a bit late and didn’t have time to drop off Rufus. He went with us to run some errands this afternoon so he had to go to dinner with us. I really didn’t want to leave him in the car and lucked out because Jimmy V’s had a patio. We ate outside and Rufus joined us! He was really well behaved and everyone lavished attention all over him. Everyone but our waitress. She was afraid of him and gave us terrible service. She wouldn’t even bring our plates over to the table and Rufus was no where near where she would have to approach the table. Needless to say she got almost NO tip. What a joke – How could anyone be afraid of this smooshy face?

when i was younger i was terrified of dogs, especially big ones, didn’t get over it until i got to know one. i think its really important for kids to interact with animals so they dont grow up and become skittish adults who cant appreciate the joy and wisdom of all creatures

Thanks K-9 Amiga. You are absolutely right! We will occasionally teach bite prevention classes at the local elementary schools. It is amazing how many people don’t know how to approach a strange dog and can’t read their body language. It is very important to educate people so they don’t miss out on the joy of dog companionship.

She’d probably seen “Kujo” too many times. She needs to get a grip on reality.

I don’t think she was old enough to have even heard of Cujo.. lol she looked like a little kid. I really hate when people act stupid around dogs. I can understand people being afraid of dogs, but why would someone be afraid of a dog at a restaurant? I mean why would someone bring a “killer” to a restaurant – Get a grip!

it’s sad when people are afraid of dogs. Maybe she had a bad experience when she was really young. :(

Who knows… I think she just wanted to make a scene and draw attention to herself. At the end of he dinner she seemed to forget he was even there.

At least all the patrons did appreciate it :)

You won’t believe it, but I used to be afraid of dogs.. if someone told me 10 years ago that I’d be training bullmastiffs and hugging dobermans, I would have told them they were crazy
