Update on Heidi aka Daffodil

Posted by Saint Lover

Remember Heidi?

I just got an update on one of my former foster Saints. I got an email from her family with pictures letting me know how she was doing. I am sooo excited she is doing so well. I hear from my previous
fosters’s family from time to time. In fact I have made good friends
with several and talk to a couple weekly. Heidi, now named Daffodil, is
an extra special girl. We had quite a bit of time together bonding and
I am so happy she has found such a happy loving home.

“It’s been almost a year since Daffy joined our family. She has grown– we think she is the tallest St. we have ever had. The last vet visit in March she weighed in at 140. So I guess she is eating well.

She is really fun. We walk daily and some days she goes to “day camp”. Then she comes home completely exhausted. She loves to ride in the car and has an assortment of toys.

She still grabs kleenex when possible and will eat any eggs left out or butter. We have learned to put these things away. All in all she is a joy.

With little dogs I don’t always clean the kitchen after every preparation. With a Saint I’ll bet you have to be Ms. Clean with your cabinets.

It must be very gratifying to get updates like this, it’s such a testament to your fostering and home-finding skills Lora. Congrats!

She’s BEAUTIFUL! We have a saint friend here named Heidi…this is a picture of Pooka and her together the first time they met (Pooka desperately wanted her to play with him, and then when she finally did he suddenly realized just how BIG she was… )

Oh I’m glad your former foster dog is doing well. I didn’t know you had fostered a Saint Bernard. Sounds like you’ve fostered several dogs. Is it about time for you to foster another? :)

 It took longer than expected to find the right home. It was meant to be. I still remember going with you to pick her up. She was such a sweetheart.

PS There should be a crying happy face symbol.

Ooooh. Daffy doesn’t know it yet but she has a new boyfriend. Now I just have to keep my other girlfriends from finding out about her. They get a little jealous.

Smile, that was a great post…love a story that ends well, especially after we read so many sad dog stories out there… your pretty special woman Lora, fostering a dog… Daffy looks and sounds happy as…

I saw my first Saint in our town this week, happily cruising on the back of a ute…wind in her hair…they are as rare as Danes around here
