Bark Park #7
Ahhh, Saturday morning, my favorite day of the week. We started out to the park this morning early. The forecast advised it was going to be a real scorcher and we wanted to get as much play time as possible before it got too hot. I think everyone and their brother had the same idea! We got to the park at 10:45am and the parking area was completely full… over 60 cars! Cool.. that’s a little further of a walk but Zeus, Apollo and Hera would have a little extra time to do their business before we got in there and I wouldn’t have to chase them around with plastic bags for the first 20 minutes. There were several sets of labs walking in with us and I must say mine were the best behaved pack I saw walking in (at that time).
The park was packed! There had to be close to 250 dogs there. More than I had ever seen there at one time and not a single scuffle. We played in the pond and met up with Misty and Gabby the Newfies and played with them for a bit. The sky started clouding up and there was a nice breeze. The rain came several hours ahead of schedule and the skies open and down it poured. Everyone scattered and tried to hide under the trees. Most made mad dashes to their cars. We stayed for a few minutes, waiting to see what would happen. Finally, we gave up as well and left for home.
It wasn’t a good photo day which is disappointing. I added today’s “limited” gallery page HERE. But, the dogs were satisfied with their trip and all are snoozing soundly on the floor at my feet… priceless.
Seriously Hera, do you have to get in EVERY water source?

I’ve been thinking about getting Kong Wubba’s for awhile.. didnt know if they’d like them… now I know. Meijers had buy 2 get one free dog toy… guess who has 3 new red wubbas for the pool now!

We lucked out and got a couple of Wubbas at Meijers and they were a real hit in the pool today.
George it was wonderful… right up til the point it started pouring. Im sad it was cut short, but we had plenty of time to play and have fun.
Nope, no lines Maggie & Mitch. The park is 10 acres and it holds ALOT of people and dogs! About the only line we ever encounter is the food line!

LOL Lindsay, I walk them very carefully.. lol! Just kidding. I have a leash with a splitter that I put Apollo and Hera on and use a separate leash for Zeus. My son has been coming with me and he usually handles Zeus as he is his dog.
I took Brutus, Rufus and Apollo for a walk together tonight and that was NOT fun. Each was on a separate lead and Apollo wove in and out of the other dogs till everyone was so tangles my head about exploded.
Yep… its a private membership park Charlie. All dogs are spayed/neutered and must be socialized to join. There are some dogs that are a bit too snarky and will cause trouble. But for the most part every dog there just wants to run, swim, jump and play. Its a 10 acre doggie nirvana.
250 DOGS?!?!? What kind of bark park is that? It looks like SHEER HEAVEN. And it is good that the dogs have to be spayed and neutered to join because there are just too many doofuses out there! I had an incident with an intact boy the other day and it made my Momma all stressed out.
Your bark park needs a shelter where your humans can stand when it pours. Then the doggies can keep playing AND get a bath at the same time!

I read about your ordeal Biggie… Its sad that the big guy always gets the blame too no matter what happens.
I wish more people would fix their dogs if they didn’t intend on responsibly breeding. Dont worry about it Biggie.. you were just doing what a dog is supposed to do.
