The Big Splash
Rufus chased the labs around the pool today and kept getting braver and braver.. he wanted to get in with them and finally (with a little coaxing) he jumped in on his own! It wasnt graceful and he won’t be winning any ribbons for grace. But it was a major milestone. Brutus.. still not impressed with the pool. I have had several people asking if people use the pool too. Yes, we use the pool too. In fact, I am IN the pool with the dogs when I am shooting this video as well as most of the other and a ton of the photos in the pool. Thank Dog for a good filter system and pool Shock!
I am also expecting a package! I’m quite excited. We ordered some stuffies from K-9 Cuisine. It has already shipped too. I was shocked how quickly it was sent out. And since we bought over $50 worth of goodies, I qualified for free shipping via Fedex! My package will be here on Friday. I can’t wait to show off my goodies!
I’m realy disappointed .. it wasn’t anywhere near the amount of splash I was expecting!

Haha. Good job Rufus! Looks like he enjoyed himself once he got in. Yeah, I was going to ask you if there is tons of dog hair in the pool or if the filter works really well? Perhaps Brutus will join once he keeps seeing his brother jumping in?

I love it! When you put “Rufus, you can do it’ — I laughed out loud. He so wanted to, but was apprehensive. Absolutely adorable. My dog will not go in a pool, but she loves the river. She has to be able to touch bottom, she’s only dog I know who can’t swim

Amber, Rufus loves the water and will go in and out of the steps. We wont be seeing anymore pool jumping out of him though. I tried to get Brutus in again yesterday and it was fruitless.
LOL Mango… he managed two more “decent” jumps after that. He stayed in and swam around then sat on the steps. Yesterday he stared to fall asleep sitting there. Eyes, closed and swayed over a bit before catching himself.. it was hysterical.
I dont know Lindsay.. he is pretty dead set against getting in. He will lay right at the edge and i can splash him, but he WONT get in for love nor money. Pool filter is awesome! You should see how much hair comes off those dogs in the pool. I think Zeus is the worst to be honest.
Good job Rufus! If Brutus doesn’t join in soon though, It’s going to confirm all my suspicions that he’s just a Sheltie in disguise. LOL

I still dont know why Brutus wont get in. He loves water and wouldn’t stay out of the pond at our old house. I guess I am going to have to get him a kiddie pool to lay in.

Hello Baylee… Rufus here – I jumped in 2 more times that day too and got more graceful with each jump. You should have seen me, I was brilliant.
Nanjo, he wanted to jump in all day. I can’t believe he didnt fall in or jump in after the labs earlier. He was absolutely beside himself when they jumped in. He’s such a ham.
