We have power
Yep… it’s been restored! I am so happy to have some semblance of normalcy back in my (and the dogs’s) life. They didnt seem to mind the storm or the lack of power until bedtime. We had to sleep with the windows open (of course my allergies are horrendous now) and it was dead quiet. Fire and police sirens wailed all night long and every time they did the pack of coyotes to our left and the pack to our right went nuts. Brutus and Rufus sat in the window and grumbled everytime the coyotes did their thing. I didnt even know we HAD coyotes near by… omg! I will rethink walking late at night since they are in packs. Coyotes get pretty darn brave when they have back up.
Before the storm on Sunday I was able to make it to the dog park with Hera and Brutus. It was a hot one, too hot for Brutus. He panted for hours ontop of the a/c vent — until it went out!

I have read through most of everyone’s blogs, but there were almost 100 posts I had misses since power went down so I didnt make comments, sorry. I have kept up with what you all are doing. I am thinking about Baylee and Sami, they have no power right now either. I hope you guys stay safe and are able to eat ok. Eating was our biggest challenge. Everything in the fridge and freezer went in the bin today, nothing survived.
On a sad note, my very dear friend Jen at Fuzzy Logic said goodbye to a beloved friend on Saturday. I am saddened to announce Targ has gone to the rainbow bridge to be with the other angels that wait for their master’s return. Run free Targ old boy… you were a light, a beacon a companion and brought your mom and I together as friends. You will be greatly missed.
Off to Arizona tomorrow afternoon!

Good to hear you are staying cool - or cool enough. Welcome back to AC. And as if that weren’t enough, I gave you an award.
slobber,

Thanks Biggie… It is a weird feeling having no power. I found myself still flicking the switch to turn on lights… There are still thousands here that do not have their power restored. I consider myself very lucky (although my son would beg to differ, he has school… lol) Thanks for the award! I am heading over to check it out right now.
Thanks Charlie… It was novel the first 20 minutes with out power… then OMG what a drag. I feel so sorry for the people that still don’t have power and all that are displaced in Texas and Louisiana.
Wow girl, you’ve been through the wars, but what an adventure. Do people raise cyotes, I know in Australia there are dingo x’s around. I can deal with the lights out, tonnes of candles…but no computer!… and the fridges and freezers, what a frustrating waste..
On a sadder note, what a fine looking dog Tarj was, one handsome big boy…prayers for his mum and family…x

Good thing Mango is away at camp. Targ looks like a little mini-Mango. His mom must be so sad without him.

As usual, we’re way behind. Glad to hear you have power again! How frustrating!

Glad you got your power back! And that news about the coyotes is a little alarming. I’m going through your posts backwards, so I don’t know yet why you’re off to Arizona, but have a good trip!

Thinks have sure been exciting over there. I remember coyotes from when I lived out west, by the rockies. They try to make friends with you and then invite you over for dinner. I don’t think I need to elaborate on that one, do I?
Smoochies to everyone, but especially my Apollo boy.
