Bath Time – RapidBath® Pet Bathing System

Posted by Saint Lover

(Make sure you read to the end for a BIG surprise)

I am sure you have seen the commercials on tv for the RapidBath® Pet Bathing System.  You know the one with the lady and her Great Dane (dodger blue) that gets a bath on tv and it just stands there like he’s in heaven…  But you will not believe how awesome it truly is.  I was lucky enough to get my hands on one and can tell you first hand how absolutely amazing it is.

Right on the box it claims to be the 3 minute bath.  Yea right, you might be thinking to yourself.  Its true, I swear to you.  I pulled this baby out of the box and since it is a really nice day, I hooked it up to the hose spigot outside.  I fired it up and washed/rinsed Eris from head to paw in less than 3 minutes.  3 MINUTES!!!  No bending over, scrubbing or fighting the soap to get out of her coat when I rinsed.  You know all the things that make washing a dog a real pain.  I hate to admit it, I hate giving baths.  I have some back problems and bending over while standing for any amount of time is absolutely murder on my back so I have to send them to the groomer. It was a completely pain free experience.

Next up Rufus.  This is a real test because lets be honest he has twice the real estate as a “regular dog”.  He loved it!  The look on his face is absolutely priceless.  He is in total bliss.  The only problem I had from him was to keep him from leaning up against me when I hit “the spot” with the jet stream – lol. It took a little longer than 3 minutes to wash him because he’s so big and his long thick coat but it was less than 5.  In fact in less than 20 minutes I washed Eris, Rufus AND Hera as well as towel drying them.  Talk about a time saver.

How to set it up - Its quick and you can choose one of two ways.  I chose method 1- I hooked it up directly to the hose spigot since it was a nice sunny day.  The 2nd option, which is sooo cool, is to hook it up to where the shower head goes.  It comes with an adapter to hook up the RapidBath to the shower.  Warm water baths for the dog, perfect for winter and cold days or the person that doesn’t really want to get wet outside.

How does it work? Special shampoo packets are inserted into the handle and it mixes with the water as it sprays creating an aerated, foamy spray that gets right down to the skin and is easily washed out.  Several shampoo refill cartridges are available on their site (I tried out the Ultra cleaning shampoo and its very nice smelling).  The spraying action loosened up alot of dead hair which I easily wisked away with the fuminator.

The dogs smell so nice and it was soo easy.  I really wish I would have had one of these when I lived at my old house.  It would have been perfect to rinse off muddy feet and the pond stink. I couldn’t be happier with the results, ease of use and the lack of mess.  Tomorrow I am going to try it out in the shower on Brutus, Apollo and Zeus!

We give it a paw rating of 5/5.

The RapidBath® Pet Bathing System can be purchased at 1-877-786-4358 or on their SITE for $79.99

I am very pleased and excited to announce that in conjunction with Hydrosurge, I will be giving away a complete RapidBath® Pet Bathing System and 5-pack of shampoos to one of my lucky readers.  Leave a comment on this post to enter into the drawing.  On October 31st I will be drawing from the entrants and the lucky winner will recieve the package above!  Good Luck!

That does sound simpler than running your Saints through a car wash. You don’t look like you got very wet either.

Oh wow, that sounds like an awesome gadget! I would love one to bathe Dannan with. He hates the bath so much that if I could get it done in three minutes, we could maybe both live with it! (Ok, probably he couldn’t… water is evil, according to him!)

    Brown dog kisses,

I am so happy to find your blog – I am learning a lot here :)

I think that’s a cool product , how I wish my Max would let us bathe her :( She’s so terrified of water that it’s super difficult for us to give her a bath. Is it alright if we link you to Max’s blog? Thanks very much.

Very cool! Hmmm….this thing might make it possible for me to get all 6 of the dogs bathed in one day. That would be pretty much unheard of around here. I’m usually worn out after 3 or 4. I’m always leery about things that sound too good to be true, so it’s nice to hear that you’ve tried it out and it really works this well!

So, how did it work in the shower? My picky dogs only let me use warm water

  12. ChristyNo Gravatar

Hey that looks pretty cool. I have seen them at petsmart and wondered. Do they work in the shower? It gets too cold here in Utah to wash dogs outside. Plus I spoil them with warm water!!

Wow, that looks impressive! We’d definitely have to use the shower option here, though. The last time I tried to bathe Fippy under the hose, he convinced the entire neighborhood that I was killing him, slowly, with a spoon.

  21. JediNo Gravatar

Wow… Bathing a saint in less than 5 minutes!? There’s hope for Jedi and Ahsoka!! LOL… We don’t have that device here in Australia. I’m stuck with the bathtub and a handheld shower hose… And 20 minutes each. And they’re still puppies without a full coat!

    Great review!!

Wow that looks so cool. My back always hurts when ever I am washing the girls. You are wonderful !
    See everyone soon !

  33. the Dainty DaneNo Gravatar

Ooh! We need one! Anything that will keep me from getting a 1/2 bath while washing my girl-dog is worth a try!

  34. TheresaNo Gravatar

Oh my that looks awesome!! I often wash the dogs outside since they are a bit big for my shower stall and it keep the bathroom from being flooded! I always feel bad that the water get sooooo cold!!! What a great invention! Are you able to get a extension for a longer hose?

  35. Reggie & His MommaNo Gravatar

You know, $79.99 seems like a pricey gadget when a hose & nozzle is $20, HOWEVER since I have yet to experience a dog bathing that does not kill my back, get me soaking wet and end up leaving residue somewhere on the dog’s fur AND since the cost of a groomer will bankrupt anyone with a large dog, this baby seems like a DEAL! Two groomer visits and this baby is paid for!

    Thanks for the review!

  36. MorgenNo Gravatar

This seems like it would work awesome for my crew! I have major back problems and cant afford to send all my dogs to the groomers. Plus with all the fosters I have coming in and out it would help to make my house a much more pleasant smelling place:) I’m so glad this got a good review with washing Rufus and Brutus since it’s mostly saints at my house.

This would be awesome for my crew – 2 great pyrenees, a golden retriever, and a border collie and 2 goats!!

  38. Biggie-ZNo Gravatar

  46. Dozer, Dottie and CooperNo Gravatar

This is such a neat product! Thank you for introducing it and spending the time to explain it all – we don’t have the commercial out here in Oregon. It looks like just the ticket for Cooper, who hates baths since it would do the job quickly. Dozer will love it because it will be something new to attack but it might actually get through his thick coat which has always been an issue. Thank you again for taking the time to show the pictures and offer your views – definitely will save my pennies for this one (got to get Dozer’s surgery paid first! LOL!)

Hello, i am a professional groomer and i don’t know if you know this but the Rapid bath system is basically a simplified smaller portable version of the HydroSurge which is what many groomers use including PetSmart. By adding air into the water stream it increases the pressure and greatly increases the cleaning factor, as well as making it easier to rinse, if your dog is very thick coated, then you can stop to scrub(rubber fingered curry works good) as we do at the salon. As well as the added oxygen is nourishing to the coat and helps lift out the dander. If you have a lot of loose coat you can brush while they are sudsy and get out a lot of undercoat. Also use a shammy after as it saves you a lot of towels.

  51. Bev ,Misty and GabbyNo Gravatar

Okay, our Mom says we definitely need the wash system! Especially after playing at our new park. You know we Newfs just love to get in the water and wade in water, mud or anything wet !!

Look at that face! Priceless!!! He looks like he is about to fall asleep. I would love to give this baby a whirl on Kodiak and Sabre….as you know – double coats = nightmare to soap up and rinse.

Big hugs from Kodiak, Sabre, Lt. Dan, and ME!!!! See you on BDP! Thanks for the great write up!

Haha. He for sure enjoyed that. I agree with our peeps on the forum, this is the newest addition to my christmas wish list. Mya hates standing still in the bathtub and then she escapes and runs the entire house getting the couches soaking wet and here I am chasing her with a towel trying not to laugh too hard. Ha. =]

I have seen this rapid bath for your dogs and think it is a great idea. Just recently I gave my pet his bath and somehow the shampoo I guess didn’t get all washed out and he got a skin infection. Vet bill was 168.00. But now he is fine, I live in a cold area so bathing him inside would be great. I am scared to give him another bath for fear I will not get all the soap rinsed out. The skin infection was very unpleasent for him

Cool! I am sure my dog gonna enjoyed his bathing if i have like that. I like it. I just wonder how much is it. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

I stumbled across your review while looking to compare the Pet Jet to the Rapid Bath. Bathing a Rottweiler in the bathtub just makes a big ole mess – hair, water, paws flying everywhere. After I read your review, I decided there wasn’t much point in looking further. Rapid Bath sounds like everything I want and need.
