Happy Monday

Posted by Saint Lover

I made it out to the Westerville Dog Park yesterday afternoon with Apollo, Hera and Eris before the storm blew in and it turned icky and cold.  Perfect “Monday Blahs” weather and more of the same tomorrow! Wednesday looks like it will be cold, but at least sunny which will be excellent for the planned play date at the NEW PARK with the newfies!  I cant wait.

Eris actually enjoyed herself!  She sniffed at a few dogs and intereacted, wandered around exploring. It was so nice to see her actually leave my side and not demand to leave.  She does alot better in the cooler weather.

I think we saw Charlie! I think he snuck out, hopped a plane from down under and came to play with us!  What do you think?  Did Charlie take a magic carpet ride?

And look at this Newfie… I dont know who she belonged to, but she was lovely and liked having her picture taken.  Maybe we’ll see her again.

Thursday night is beggars night in our neighborhood.  Why trick or treat is not on Halloween in Ohio is totally beyond me.  So I need to decide if I am going to try and get a costume for any of the dogs to sit out with me to pass out candy or not.  I have looked half-heartedly in the shops knowing I wont find anything in “big and tall” dog sizes for my kiddos.  Hera is really the only dog that can wear “off the rack” clothes/costumes so she may be my companion by default.  We have missed all the costume parades and parties so far because of lack or proper attire.  I wish I could sew.  Maybe I will learn over the winter.  Too bad I wont have a costume for them for Saturday’s party at Bark til Dark.  I cant wait!

Dont forget to leave your entry comment on the RapidBath® post for your chance to win a complete RapidBath® Pet Bathing System and shampoo sampler pack.  Drawing will be held at 10:00pm EST on October 31st.

    Yes, so mistreated.

Gorgeous photos, as usual!! That is so cute how you dress up a dog and get them to ‘help’ with trick or treat. We don’t really have halloween here in Australia – it’s not really a thing our country does. Though there are some streets who really get into it, but they tend to be full of little kids. So… Happy Halloween to you!

The dog withe the blue eye is a husky x lab cross. The caption went with the dog below it. Completely different dog. The husky x lab was a real stinker. Her name is Allie and she stole Apollo’s toy and wouldnt give it back.. lol

I have not heard of beggars day, is it that way all throughout Ohio? Allie, my 10 year old has decided she didn’t want to trick-or-treat this year and would like to give candy. My son who is almost 17 would love to still trick-or-treat. I always liked getting lots of candy. :) Amy

If people were half as happy and well cared for as your dogs…

Jedi, how sad you dont celebrate Halloween. I think the over-done decorations and costumes are more an American tradition that has just gotten out of hand… lol Also I think it depends largely on what part of the country you are in too. The midwest is very “fall” orientated alot of their festivals etc are surrounding harvest time.

Bev and girls ~ I am really looking forward to tomorrow too! The weather is calling for the low 50′s which is PERFECT for our big fluffy dogs to run around and have fun. Brutus, Apollo and Hera will be with me. I cant wait! See you tomorrow! Glad you liked the pix. She was very thin and aloof but stood still beautifully and posed for pictures. I never did get to see who she belonged to.

Amy, I had never heard it called beggars night either. Until I moved to Ohio it was always celebrated ON Oct 31st. I think it has to do with Ohio being a traditionally religious part of the counrty and they didnt want their kids out on “an evil night” In my eyes it just gives the kids more nights to collect candy and get fat and cavities. Each community has it on different times and most places call for it to be done by sundown or 7pm. What fun is that?

Thanks Linds, Eris is usually content to just hang out at home. But she sure got the adventurer bug on Sunday. It was good to see!

OOOH Allison that is fabulous! I am going to have to watch for your auction around that time next year.

Thanks Christy. I am going to head over to the costume store and see what in the world i can come up with. The xl adult cosumes wont really fit the saints though. I can hardly get an xl football jersey on them. I am going to have to mock something up.

Pssst! Rufus and Brutus… hope you survived Howloween! I heard your mom was thinking of costumes for you. I told my Momma I would only be a sheep or a polar bear and nothing else. She said it was fine because none of the costumes were going to fit me either. So maybe you got lucky and your mom just put a hat on your or something and called it a day…
