Dog Park Play Date
Sorry I haven’t been around much the last few days. But there hasn’t been much to report. Cold, wet, gloomy, rainy days… blah!! I took the labs to one of the city parks (Pooch Playground) on Sunday to meet up with the greyhounds and it was awful! Cold, wet, gloomy and so dark my pictures didnt even turn out. The park was filthy, my shoes were covered in runny poo and no one was picking up after themselves. There was a large group of snarky sled type dogs and a couple of rotties that were not well socialized and acted like total jerks while their inattentive, idiot owners stared out in right field or chit-chatted. After about 20 minutes of freezing and trying to keep away from the unsocialized dogs I had about all I could take and leashed up the labradorks and hit the bricks. I felt like a total snob, but that place was like a powder keg ready to blow at any moment. I really am getting my money’s worth at the Companion Club Dog Park.
So today we (Brutus, Zeus and Hera) met up with the Newfs at Companion Club and had our weekly play date. I forgot to blog about it last week, but we did meet up, it was a blast and there are pictures in THIS gallery. Zeus is feeling alot better from his surgery and ran around like a crazed maniac. He seems so much happier in the last few days. His teeth must have really been hurting him. He’s like a completely different, and happier dog. Brutus was of course in his element and enjoyed the cold and light dusting of snow.
Hera and Brutus were the park wild things and wrestled and chased each other all over. I still can’t get over how much energy she has. I swear, if I could bottle it, I’d be a zillionaire.
And I got some great shots of the Newfs today. They were really active and totally in their element in the cold too. It seems like the colder it gets the more spunk all the big dogs have. Which makes sense, they are bred for cold weather.
There are lots more pictures in the Dog Park Gallery from today. You can check them out HERE ~ Enjoy!

sorry your weather has been so bad. We have nice clear 70s but really need rain. Wish we could trade for a while. Great pictures as usual. “Labradorks,” I love it.

bummer about the city park! I would have left, too. Ugh. I’m glad you have better places to go. You always post such nice pictures!

Sorry to hear about the city park. The energy of a dog park depends so much on the people and their dogs. The pictures are great! Biggie is getting more playful in the cold weather too – and I still haven’t managed to get him together with the Saint in our neighborhood.

Glad to hear Zeus is feeling better! I wish we had a light dusting of snow here. I’m tired of this upper 80′s stuff!

Bummer about the weather. It always gets to me when it’s cloudy and cold. For whatever reason we’ve been enjoying more warm days this fall, but I’m sure they’ll run out soon. Great pictures as always!

Well yes, I notice that when the hoomans don’t watch the Rottie he can try to get away with what he likes. He is predominantly a nice little man and when the hoomans don’t watch me I get him back. Naughty hoomans in the dog park, the name says it all. ‘DOG Park’. it’s our time, hoomans get all day to do hooman socialiasing, so stop nattering and watch us have fun or we’ll take advantage of being unsupervised, can’t blame us for trying eh?
Me and Mummy think your pictures are the best!!!!!

BTW: I’m being a good girl, I’m settling, learning the wonderful art of meditation, being really happy and content, getting lots of attention when I’m calm and submissive and conquering my fears (slowly), following the Rottie who is a pretty good stooge, eating well but not covering my young physique ribbies yet. Oh and Lora, I’ve been allowed off my leash one week tomorrow, this has fulfilled me of course and I’m benefiting from the power of the pack as that man Cesar Milan would say. I am very happy and you were right, I am very lucky. xxxx

The private dog barks do spoil you and make you remember exactly why you pay to play.
I finally decided that we are going to join Bark Til Dark Dog Park in January. Missi is so nice and is working with us on joining. I am excited, just wish it was a bit closer to home.
If people dont supervise their dogs they can be down right dangerous places to be… glad you have a better one you can go to… honest your pics get better every day..:)
