Redemption
After all the excitement and drama of yesterday my house is starting to resemble a little more like normal. With a whole lot of elbow grease I scrubbed, wipe, pryed and chisled away soot and melted gook off my stove, microwave, floor, counter and cabinets. It looks “mostly” ok for now. The microwave still needs replaced as does the the burner and drip pan on the stove and the ceiling needs cleaned somehow. I was able to sit down and finally relax today.
Rufus is looking for a little absolution. He has been very concerned about what happened yesterday and has been desperate for reassurance that things are ok. Here he is watching me eat some cookies and he is thinking if only he could have a little bite he’d be a good boy for now on. Being the meanie that I am, I thought it would be fun to teach him a trick. You get the cookie, but only when I say so. Patience is a virtue.
I think his mastery of his skill was more about trying to get back in the good books. What do you think? I think all is forgiven and hes off the naughty list. The sweet taste of Nutter Butter redemption….
Aww, poor Rufus. He looks desperate to please you! That cookie looks TINY compared to him!!!

I thank the Court for its merciful approach to the defendant and the resolution of the claims made against said defendant. I would like to protest the obvious torture of my client by placing tiny cookies on his nose. We demand that the plaintiff either use jumbo sized cookies or a pizza instead!

Gus and Waldo do the same thing. It’s like they have an instinctive knowledge that they’ve messed up, and they need that friendly pet and treat to make it feel better.

I am so sorry that your mom posted that most disturbing photo with foodables on your nose. My momma has been trying to convince me to do that and so far I had her fooled that my nose just wasn’t shaped for such nonsense.

We’re so happy to hear that Rufus is off the naughty list! And what torture, a treat balanced on his nose! I can’t even get close to that with Dannan – one day, I’ll start to work on it in earnest (and he will want to pack up his little hobo bag and run away!).
