Bark For Life
know its been a really long time since I have blogged and alot has happened in that time. I have missed you all and have more time to devote to my blogging. Over the next few days I’ll try to fill you in on some of our adventures and what’s been going on. One of my favorite events this summer was Bark for Life. Rufus and I joined a few of our “big dog” friends in the Chicago for the Cancer Society Bark for Life walking event. We raised money for cancer research and walked with a group of dogs through a nature preserve for the event. Rufus and I dedicated our walk to my grandfather who lost his valiant battle with stomach cancer a few years ago.
You can see we are sporting fancy matching cancer ribbon tie-dye shirt/bandanna. Thanks for the t’s Kendra we love them!

It was really humid, foggy, hot and the mosquitoes were the size of vw bugs (no pun intended…). I dont think i have ever seen THAT many mosquitoes in my entire life. I even had trouble with my camera lens fogging up so most of my pictures didnt turn out.
Rufus decided he needed to lay down with the water buckets and make sure he kept all the water for himself.
The look on his face is priceless. It basically says, “Basja if you think you’re getting some of MY water, your crazy. Find your own!”
Once the morning “fog” cleared, I was able to get a decent picture of Rufus lounging.
After the walk we went back to Downers Grove and meandered over to the Happy Dog Barkery with the gang The dogs gobbled up some fancy dog treats before we headed out to Deb and the Leonbergers’ place for a pawty. What fun! BBQ, swimming pool and buddies.
Rufus is hoping to get a crumb or two that Gaby just might drop.
Miss Cleo… “call me now”
What’s the old saying? A tired dog is a good dog? I think Huntley pretty much summed it up perfectly. Everyone was exhausted after a fun filled, action packed day.

Hey guys! Something is weird with your blog because I can see all the photos just fine in the google preview, but when I go to the actual page I just see little question marks and clicking on them says “page not found” I use Safari as my browser.
All that aside, I did see your wonderful photos in my google reader and let me tell you it sure is nice to see you enjoying the day with other full sized doggies and for a good cause too.
Slobbers,

Glad I stopped by to check in! Nice to see you posting again. I’ve missed your lovely pics!
Glad to see that you’re back to blogging. I agree with the previous comment. I can’t see any of the pics, just times and times and are little black boxes.
Your pictures are not loading for us! This is so not nice! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Love ya lots

Not sure what the problem is. I could see the pictures in the main preview but not showing up for me either. Looks like I may need to update some plug ins… I’ll check into it and see what I can figure out.
Wonderful dogs, and loveley pics of them enjoying their life.
Happy doggies always make me smile
Thank you for sharing!

I think I figured it out this time… I changed the permalink structure when i was trying to get the home page tab issue fixed and some how it kept the old structure and didnt revert when i made the change. Photos should be visible now. Please let me know if they are not.
Cleo the Leo!!! I just found your blog and have been enjoying your doggie pics when I saw this post and picture of Cleo. I have a 17 month old Leonberger and recently lost my 5 year old, Mekka. It’s always exciting to see one when you least expect it
